Anki Residence

An artist's residence designed around her own work. The lighting holds two roles at once: it shows the art with a gallery's precision, and it lets the house remain a home. The art and the living spaces are lit as separate layers. Adjustable accents reveal each piece on its own terms — high colour fidelity, controlled output to protect the work, sources concealed so only the art appears lit. A second, warmer layer washes the rooms, so the house feels inhabited rather than exhibited. Nothing is on show but the work. The result is a home that becomes a gallery the moment it needs to, and recedes to a home again the moment it doesn't.
